My today's flower is what we call here in Indonesia "Kumis Kucing" which is translated into English it becomes "Cat's Mustache"... cute name ya?? ^_^ It is actually a herb with its latin name Orthosiphon spp. Its other names are Kidney Tea Plants/Java Tea known in England, Giri-Giri in Sumatra island, Remujung in Central and East Java, and Songot Koneng in Madura island. This herb is famous in South East Asian countries and Australia though it origins from Africa.
In Indonesia people use the leaves both natural or dried ones for diuretic medication, like Mama uses it for my father. Ya, that is why we have it in our garden. In India people use it for rheumatic. Others range from cough, diarrhea, diabetes, kidney problems, and others.

I know of a plant called Cat's Whiskers, Devil Flower or in latin - tacca, perhaps it is the same plant?
